Overview

Aurora is designed as a local-first macOS utility. Core app data such as clipboard history, saved clips, Quick Notes, media state, widget layout, focus history, and settings stays on your Mac unless a feature needs you to connect an external service.

Data We Collect

Information you provide

When you purchase a Pro license, we collect your email address. Payment is processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record — we never see or store your card details.

Automatically collected

The website uses consent-managed Google Analytics 4 to understand page views and interactions when you allow analytics cookies. Aurora does not collect clipboard content, media history, note text, calendar event text, or browsing information for analytics.

How We Use Your Data

• Support license purchases and subscriptions

• Understand website performance and page usage when analytics consent is granted

Local Processing

Aurora's core features — media controls, clipboard monitoring, saved clips, Quick Notes, widgets, notifications, focus tools, and customization — operate locally on your Mac. Writing help uses Apple's on-device model when available on your Mac; Aurora does not describe or provide a cloud writing model.

Permissions

Aurora asks for permissions only when a feature needs them. Automation may be needed for supported media apps and browser playback control. Calendar access or Google sign-in is needed for calendar features. Camera or microphone permission is requested only for relevant widgets. Accessibility is requested only if a feature needs system-level control.

Third-Party Services

Aurora integrates with the following third-party services:

• Lemon Squeezy — Payment processing, tax collection and compliance, receipts, and license delivery, as merchant of record for Aurora Pro purchases.
• Aurora licensing service — License verification for Pro activation, using your purchase email and license key.
• Google Calendar OAuth — Used only when you connect Google Calendar so Aurora can show and create calendar events through Google Calendar support.
• Google Analytics 4 — Website analytics only when consent is granted in the cookie preferences.

Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review their respective policies.

Data Storage & Security

License and purchase-support data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Aurora preferences and configurations are stored locally on your Mac in the application's sandboxed container.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request access to data we hold about you
• Request deletion of support or license data we hold about you
• Opt out of anonymized analytics within Aurora's settings
• Export or transfer your data upon request

Children's Privacy

Aurora is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the Aurora app or via email to registered users. Continued use of Aurora after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
