Troubleshooting

Common issues.

Permissions

Aurora requires Accessibility and Screen Recording permissions. Open System Settings, navigate to Privacy & Security, and ensure Aurora is enabled in both sections. A restart of the app may be required after granting access.

License Activation

Aurora uses a simple entitlement flow. New installs without an activated paid license begin with a 72-hour trial. Activate Aurora with your purchase email and Lemon Squeezy license key from the receipt email — the paid license replaces the trial immediately. Aurora Pro can be active on up to 2 Macs per license.

App Not Launching

If Aurora does not open, confirm you are running macOS 13 or later. Try moving the app from Downloads into Applications, then right-click and choose Open. If macOS blocks the app, go to System Settings and allow it under Security.

Media Not Detected

Aurora detects media from system-level Now Playing events. If your player is not showing, confirm it supports macOS media integration. Browsers like Safari and Chrome work automatically; some third-party players may need additional configuration.

Billing & Refunds

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which handles checkout, receipts, tax collection, license key delivery, and payment details as merchant of record. Billing changes are handled through Lemon Squeezy receipt links or support. For billing questions or refunds, email support with your purchase receipt.

Reinstallation

To perform a clean install, quit Aurora, delete it from Applications, and re-download the latest version from the download page. Re-activate with your purchase email and license key to restore Pro. Note that Aurora won't restore a previous trial once a paid license has been activated on an install.
