Why Aurora

Built for the moments
between tasks.

Change a song, save a clip, start a timer, check the next meeting, or jot a note without opening another full app.

Less switching Stay in the app you are using

Common actions open from the top edge, so the current window keeps its place.

Faster checks Glance first, expand only when needed

Media, calendar, timers, and notes stay compact until a task needs more room.

Native feel Built around macOS habits

Keyboard shortcuts, system materials, and local-first defaults keep Aurora predictable.

Choose your flow

Start with the job,
Aurora shapes the surface.

Pick the kind of moment you are in and see how Aurora moves between a compact notch pill, the widget shelf, and focused utility surfaces without becoming another window to manage.

When sound is part of the work

Control playback without leaving the window.

Keep track art, progress, and transport controls at the top edge. Expand only when you want seeking, source details, or a calmer Now Playing surface.

  • Spotify, Apple Music, and supported browser playback
  • Compact pill first, expanded player on demand
  • Useful on Macs with or without a notch

Calendar, kept close New

View Google and iCloud calendars together, check the next event, and create new events from the top of your screen. See how →

Quick Notes with optional writing actions

Capture a note from the top edge, then summarise, extract action items, or suggest a title when Apple's on-device model is available. See how →

Focus Timer, Pomodoro, and Meeting Mode

Start deep-work sessions, run Pomodoro cycles, reduce interruptions during calls, and review completed sessions later.

Clipboard notifications and quick saves

See copy confirmations, save useful clips, and return to clipboard history with copy and reuse actions close by.

Apple's on-device model when available

On-device writing help, when you want it

Aurora can summarise copied text, extract action items, and suggest note titles when you ask it to. When Apple's on-device model is available, Aurora uses it. When it isn't, Aurora falls back gracefully so the workflow still holds.

Copied text

Hey team — pushing the design review to Tuesday 2:30pm so Maya can join from Berlin. Please have the updated onboarding flow and the paywall copy ready. Also: we still need a decision on the trial length — 72-hour vs 7-day. Let's close on that before Tuesday.

On-device summary

Design review moved to Tue 2:30pm so Maya can join remotely. Need updated onboarding flow + paywall copy, and a final call on 72-hour vs 7-day trial before the meeting.

  • Prepare updated onboarding flow
  • Finalise paywall copy
  • Decide: 72-hour vs 7-day trial

Summarise

Long articles, meeting notes, pasted transcripts — condensed to the essentials in a sentence or a paragraph. Choose short, medium, or detailed.

Short Medium Detailed

Extract action items

Turn a copied brief or a meeting scratchpad into a clean to-do list. One click in Clipboard or Quick Notes.

Suggest a title

Untitled note? Aurora reads the content and proposes three concise titles you can accept with a keystroke.

On-device when available
Aurora uses Apple's on-device model when supported on your Mac.
Only when you ask
Summaries, action items, and note titles run only when you trigger them.
Graceful fallback
If Apple's on-device model isn't available, Aurora uses built-in fallback behavior and does not claim a cloud writing model.
Background completion
Longer actions can finish in the background and return as a lightweight Aurora notification.

Text actions depend on Apple's on-device model when supported on your Mac. Aurora still works on earlier supported macOS versions, with fallback behavior where needed.

Aurora is one native Mac app, built by one person. Media, calendar, focus, clipboard, and notes stay close without pulling you out of the app you are using.

FAQ

Quick answers.

What is Aurora?

Aurora is a native macOS utility that lives around the notch or top screen area and gives fast access to media controls, clipboard history, calendar, Quick Notes, Focus Timer, widgets, and quick actions.

How does the 72-hour trial work?

Aurora starts a 72-hour full trial the first time you launch it. All Pro surfaces and widgets are unlocked during that window, with no account or payment required. After it ends, an active license is required to continue using Aurora.

Is Aurora privacy-conscious?

Aurora keeps app behavior local wherever possible and requests permissions only for features that need them. Website analytics run only through the consent choices managed in the cookie preferences.

Which macOS versions are supported?

Aurora requires macOS 13 Ventura or later. It is designed for MacBooks with a notch and adapts its top-screen placement on supported Macs without a notch.

Can I switch plans later?

Yes. You can upgrade from the trial to Aurora Pro Monthly or Aurora Pro Lifetime at any time. Monthly subscribers can switch to Lifetime to lock in access forever.

Do taxes or VAT apply?

Taxes may apply at checkout depending on your location. VAT is calculated automatically where required by Lemon Squeezy, which handles payment processing and tax compliance as merchant of record.

How does writing help work, and where does my text go?

Only when you explicitly trigger it in supported areas such as Clipboard or Quick Notes. Aurora uses Apple's on-device model when available on your Mac and falls back gracefully when that model is unavailable.

What media sources does Aurora support?

Aurora works with Spotify, Apple Music, and supported Google Chrome web playback. No extra plugins required.

What is Aurora not trying to replace?

Aurora is not a full calendar replacement or a full notes replacement. It is a quick control surface for common actions. Writing help availability depends on your Mac and macOS support for Apple's on-device model.
